Is it to update your friends and family, to keep your clients in the loop on your latest
achievements, or a mixture of everything that you just need to share with the world?

SECOND:
Make a short list of anything that you MUST have on your background.
Usually, this is something like a photo of you, a company logo or contact info.

links to your other websites – for reference.
